Video Games Of The Future (Taking Sword Art Online As Main Example)

Even though we are progressing quite fast now compared to decades ago, it still feels there is a lot that needs to be done. And I think about this every single day now because it is kind of my purpose now to see everything progress rapidly and that I get to use all the new technologies that will release in the coming future. 

This post is about Gaming. And gaming which combines the use of Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality. And since Sword Art Online is an excellent Anime that is based on Full Dive VR. I thought I'd pick it. 

Games currently are large scale and much better looking than decades ago. But it feels like they aren't innovating much anymore, everything feels same now. Only some game companies actually release games that have something new and that blows people's mind. Where the story is great along with graphics.

It saddens me deeply that VR is still so underdeveloped. Almost every VR game feels kind of trashy. PC VR games are incredibly demanding to run. And game companies rarely add VR features to their AAA games. It sucks. And I hate it.

Sword Art Online is FDVR that is a MMORPG game. So it is multiplayer as well as RPG. It felt like life itself where you could interact with other players as if you are doing in real life. You create your own story, the NPCs are something you could naturally interact with like talking to a real person. It still feels so sci fi you know. 

But this year seeing AI progress, I think it will be soon possible to create game worlds where you could naturally talk to NPCs like they are real players. And they have their own unique personality, life and great memory. 

Imagine playing the next Elder Scrolls game where you could talk to every NPC using your natural voice. They all have their own life and story. And you could be friends with them, share moments, share your stories, play with them and so on like a real player. 

In future there could be a SAO like game where every player is NPC but they all feel more real than humans themselves. You would never feel lonely and they are nice to you. Well evil and bad depending on the characters as well. It is like living an anime life yourself. 

And maybe, maybe VR will see exponential progress as well in the coming time thanks to AI getting more advanced. Maybe full dive VR will come sooner than expected. Or something close it. Something that would not make average people nauseas. 

I imagine playing video games by 2030 that feel life like. You are not dependent on humans anymore for fun. VR is super advanced, maybe not FDVR but something that gives incredible experience. Like you are literally there. Or close to it.

I am honestly very disappointed with humans, seeing them online and through real life experiences. I think I almost gave up on people. I don't care anymore. I feel AI of the future will change my life. 

We really need super immersive SAO like games where we can have a life we actually enjoy. And where people do not suck.
